Apoluna is private by design. Everything you log stays on your iPhone and in your own private iCloud. We — Terminal Velocity Ltd — run no servers of our own, have no accounts, and never see, collect, sell, or share your data. There are no analytics, no advertising identifiers, and no tracking of any kind.
None. Apoluna has no sign-up and sends nothing to us. We cannot access your cycle data, your name, or anything else you enter in the app.
To do its job, Apoluna stores the information you choose to log — period start dates, your average cycle and period lengths, an optional first name, seed-cycling logs, and your moon garden's progress. This data is stored on your device. It is used solely to compute your phases, forecasts, garden, and lunar insights, all of which are calculated on your device.
If you are signed into iCloud, Apoluna keeps a copy of your data in your private iCloud database so it stays in sync across your own devices. This storage belongs to your Apple ID: it is protected by Apple's iCloud security, and neither we nor anyone else can read it. If you are not signed into iCloud, Apoluna simply keeps everything locally on the device. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Friends mode is entirely opt-in and off until you invite someone. If you choose to share:
On devices that support Apple Intelligence, Apoluna can write a short personal note about your day. This is generated by Apple's on-device model: your data is processed entirely on your iPhone and is not sent to Apple, to us, or to anyone else. You can switch these notes off at any time in Settings.
The optional morning forecast uses local notifications scheduled on your device. Enabling it requires only the standard notification permission; nothing is transmitted anywhere.
The home-screen widget shows your phase, cycle day, and garden using a small snapshot shared between the app and the widget on your device only.
Your data remains yours. You can delete individual period logs in Cycle History, and deleting the app removes all locally stored data. Data synced to your private iCloud can be removed in iOS Settings by managing iCloud storage for Apoluna, or it is deleted when you delete your logs in the app while syncing.
Apoluna is a wellness and educational companion — not a medical device, diagnosis, or contraceptive — and does not provide medical advice. Always speak with a healthcare professional about your health.
If Apoluna's features change in a way that affects your privacy, this page will be updated and the date above revised before the change takes effect.
